Welcome to the Spirit Collection by Julez Bryant

The Spirit Collection was born two years ago while driving Highway 1 along the Lost Coast. It is one of those stretches of California where time slows down, cell service disappears, and you can feel your thoughts expand.

Some of my favorite moments exist in my van, chasing adventure with no real plan. I’m always seeking that pioneer feeling. To find places where human hands still matter, where craftsmanship hasn’t been replaced by speed, and where you can tell something meaningful is brewing beneath the surface.

Along the California coastline, you’ll find small general stores tucked into quiet towns. Places that carry handmade local goods, thoughtfully packaged and proudly displayed. The people behind the counter know the makers. They know the materials. There’s pride there. Community. A shared intention to keep the human spirit alive.

That feeling stayed with me.

The old-fashioned price tags. Manila envelopes with round grommets. Cotton string tied just slightly imperfect. Natural fibers, worn textures, functional beauty. There’s freedom in that imperfection. It became the spark for this collection.

For the Spirit Collection, I wanted to stretch beyond the picture frame and go back to the roots of my craft. I returned to the lost wax casting technique — the same foundational process used by the pioneers of jewelry-making — to create symbolic gold pendants that feel both timeless and alive.

At Julez Bryant, we honor craftspeople, artists, ancestors, and pioneers. The people who built something meaningful using what was around them. Gold. Fire. Patience. Skill. This is how it all began. The Spirit Collection is my tribute to that history.

Each piece in the collection features a classic silhouette. It includes round medallions and rectangle pendants that I have paired with symbolic motifs like snakes, hummingbirds, and butterflies. The surfaces are intentionally contrasted: soft satin backgrounds framed by organic, hand-wavy edges, finished with diamond bales designed for everyday strength and longevity. Every pendant is handmade in our Encinitas, California studio using solid 14k gold.

This collection is deeply personal to me.

I come from farmers, gold miners, Irish immigrants, and the automotive industry. I come from people who worked the land, believed in honest labor, and encouraged adventure over comfort. The Spirit Collection carries all of that history wrapped into jewelry that’s meant to be worn, layered, and lived in.

Each of us has an origin story. This one is mine.

My hope is that the Spirit Collection helps you find yours. That you choose the symbols that speak to you, to curate your piece your way, and to wear it as a reminder of where you’ve been and where you’re going.
